According to this article, Jason Segel is planning on making a kids’ adventure film à la The Goonies. Now, in today’s modern, jaded society, I would love to say that such an idea is doomed to fail, and that you can’t rekindle the flame of the mid-1980s.

However, after watching those kids from Super 8, I have full confidence that you could assemble a group of child actors to make this happen. Hell, I’d watch a series of movies of those kids getting into outlandish shenanigans. Especially that kid who liked to light stuff on fire. Somebody get him on a pirate ship.

Anyway, the moral of the story is, if anyone will screw this thing up, it will be the grown-ups.
